Step Right Up!

This summer, children will discover that reading is sweeter than cotton candy. The Newport Public Library Summer Reading Program will be every child's free ticket to creative fun. In order to celebrate the arts, the Newport Public Library has invited a carnival to town - but not just any carnival. This is a special, imaginary, magical Carnival of Creativity! Each section of the carnival relates to a different art - music, dance, theater, puppetry, visual arts, crafts, culinary arts and more! Children will receive a map of the carnival when they register for the program. The map contains suggestions for how to participate in each of the arts all summer.
|
To flex their reading muscles, the strong man requires that children read at least six books over the summer. In addition, children need to complete at least one activity in at least two areas to complete the program and become the most creative artists, crafters and readers anywhere! |

The library will host its own outdoor carnival on Thursday, August 13th. By the time the summer is over, the Newport Public Library is bound to be more colorful and children more expressive as they learn how to
"Be Creative @ the Library!"
