Book Buddies Book Club
Cupcake
The Book Buddies Book Club is the Newport Public Library's book club for kids in grades 3, 4 and 5.
Registration is required.

The club meets monthly in the John Clarke Children's Program Room to discuss a popular children's book and participate in a related activity. Children should read the book in advance so that a discussion can take place. Snacks are provided.

When eleven-year-old KayKay Granger learns that the White House is haunted and uses that knowledge to play a prank on her family, she lands in big trouble with her mother, the United States President.

Kids Computer Plus! Workshops

Kids computer workshops are designed for children ages 8 - 12 years old.
Kids learn how to use the laptop computers and have the opportunity to make a related craft project.

Registration is required.

"Ready, Set, Smile!"
Friday, September 17th, 3:30pm - 4:30pm
Camera

Students will take pictures with a digital camera, download them to the laptop computers and print. Children will also decorate a frame to display the picture.

October Workshops:
"Scary Stories @ the Library"
Friday, October 15th, 3:30pm - 4:30pm


Students will explore famous scary (and not-so-scary) characters from children's literature using the laptop computers and books. Then they will create a unique scary creation of their own from recycled materials.

Sparky's Puppets present a puppet show for children ages 3 and up.
A friendly witch stirs up a brew of seasonal stories.
Watch Brier Rabbit steal a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and
meet a mischievous goblin.

No registration is required for this free program - just drop in!
Held in the John Clarke Children's Program Room.


Halloween Craft Party

Kids in Costume
Join us for a Haunted Halloween Craft Party!

Ghouls and goblins ages 6 and up are invited to dress up in their costumes and make a variety of spooky crafts.
Light refreshments will be served.
No registration is required for this free program held in the
John Clarke Children's Program Room.

Trick or Treat @ the Library
