How can I request an item?
You may place requests from the Library catalog as before. The limit on the number of holds is now 20 per card. For assistance requesting items, call us at 401-847-8720 x208, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or stop by during open hours.
I was notified that my item is ready for pick up. How can I pick up my item?
Please use the parking lot entrance and look for your bagged item(s) on the tables, they are arranged by last name. These items have already been checked out to you. If you need assistance, please ask at the Welcome Desk.
I returned my books before the due date but they are still showing up on my account. Should I worry about late fines?
All returned items are held in quarantine for three days before they are checked in. All items are backdated when they are checked in to avoid issues with overdue items or late fines. There will be no overdue fines on any items through November 22, 2020.
Are computers available?
Yes. We have a limited number of computers available that are first-come, first-served, with time limits. You may have to wait to get access to a computer.
Are printing and copying available?
You may print from the library’s computers OR click here to send us print requests from your mobile device for pickup (must be picked up same day). B&W prints are .15 cents and color prints are .30 cents. When submitting prints remotely through PrinterOn, please pick up your prints at the Reference desk on the main floor of the Library.
Documents sent to our mobile printing service will remain in the queue for 5 hours.
For copies, please go to the Reference desk on the main floor of the Library. Black & White copies are .15 cents per page and color copies are .30 cents per page.
Is 3D printing available?
Yes. Please use this form to submit your 3D print request. You will be notified when your project is ready for pickup.
Is the Library accepting book donations?
The Friends’ Bookstore welcomes donations of gently used books of resale quality. We also accept audiobooks, current textbooks and magazines, and DVDs. Small donations (1-2 bags or 1 box) may be left at the Friends’ Bookstore. Large donations (2 or more boxes) may be delivered to the loading dock on the south side of the building from 10 AM to 4 PM. Ring the bell for assistance or if you need a tax deductible donation slip. Thank you for supporting the Library!
Can I return my items to the Library?
We are now accepting book returns in the book drops outdoors and inside the Library during open hours. When returning items inside the Library please use the book slots by the Circulation desk. Returns will be quarantined for three days before being checked in. All items are backdated when they are checked in to avoid issues with overdue items or late fines. There will be no overdue fines on any items through September 20, 2020.
Is scanning available?
Yes, a flat-bed scanner is available. There is no charge for scanning.
Are faxing and notary services available?
Faxing and notary services are available Tuesday-Friday in the Administration office on the lower lobby, please call ahead 401-847-8720 x100.
Is the Newport room open? Is the microfilm reader available?
The Newport room will open beginning September 15 but limited to one person at a time. There is an additional microfilm reader in the Maker Lab which is available first-come, first-served. For more information, call 401-847-8720 x208.
