PUZZLES
- Attach new puzzle item records to the single master bib for our puzzle collection: b26383950
- If a puzzle’s original packaging is not sturdy, rehouse the pieces in a cloth bag or a bingebox storage container. Create new cover art for the bag/container.
- Our puzzle bib has a separate summary note for each size of puzzle we carry (500 pieces, 750, 1000, etc.). Update the appropriate 520 field with the new puzzle’s title and dimensions.
- On the front of the puzzle, make sure to include a (1) Return to library sticker (Avery 22806) (2) a barcode (preferably in the top right corner) and (3) a standard Dymo spine label.
- Make sure to add a comment card to the unit before sending it up.
- Item record and container images:
GAMES
- Attach new game item records to the single master bib for our game collection: b26383044
- During initial processing, discard any ads or flyers that do not directly relate to playing the game. Laminate any instructions that come on plain, easily rippable paper; put a small barcode and an NPL sticker on the instructions.
- Put any small and/or loose pieces in resealable bags.
- On larger pieces, as well as the game boards themselves, add an NPL sticker or stamp.
- Include a contents list sticker on the cover identifying all pieces and quantities patrons are responsible for (Avery 22806).
- Add these two messages to the item record: (1)Please remind patron about 7 day loan and (2) Check for instruction booklet on check-in
- On the front of the game, make sure to include a (1) Return to library sticker (Avery 22806) and (2) a barcode (preferably in the top right corner).
