Because school is closed and we’re not!

This week for teens (students in grades 5-12):

Monday, February 20th is President’s Day. We are actually closed that day. E-zone and Hoopla are always open for e-books, audiobooks and movies.

Tuesday, February 21, at 4pm – meet Ms. Becky in the Maker Lab to learn 3D printing, or just work on your own project if you already know what you are doing. Projects will be printed after the program and you will be contacted when they are ready.

Registration is requested to guarantee your seat. Drop in will be welcomed as space allows.

Wednesday, February 22 – the library is open, but Ms. Becky is going skiing so you’ll just have to read 😉

Thursday, February 23, at 4pm – Mr. Dan from the RI Computer Museum in the Friends Program Room (downstairs) for Stop Motion Animation.

Stop Motion Animation is when a series of pictures are combined to make a moving image. This workshop is a great introduction to animation and video editing for artists of all backgrounds. All of the components of stop-motion animation will be covered. From capturing your series of pictures to learning basic video and audio editing techniques, all to create a finished animated video! RI Computer Museum will be bringing laptops for use.  However, if you would like to bring your own so that you may do more animation after the class you are welcome.  The software Mr. Dan will be using is Pivot Animator.  You can download it before the program if, you wish, from https://pivotanimator.net/Download.php

Registration is requested to guarantee your seat. Drop in will be welcomed as space allows.

Friday, February 24th, all day in YA – DIY Slider puzzles

Supplies for creating your own slider puzzle will be available in the YA department throughout the day. Come on in and work here with friends or take one home… and enjoy the last few days of winter break!
