FCF – The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
For teens and lovers of teen literature.
A touching story of a young girl torn between the neighborhood and the upper class school her parents send her to so she can escape gang life. One night, one the way home from a neighborhood party, her unarmed best friend is shot by a white cop. Now Starr must find the courage to speak for herself and her friend.
*Warning: characters in this story use strong language which has been included in this reading as it contributes to the authenticity of the story. The Hate U Give was a 2019 RITBA winner and the 2018 Reading Across RI selection. The movie version of this book is rated PG-13.

Programs to Go for Teens
Swing by YA and say hello (or just wave), grab a project pack then go home (or to a friends’) and have fun!
Your kit will contain: card stock, Textured paper, colored paper, stickers, gel pens, envelopes and instructions!
You will have to provide:scissors, glue or tape and stamps (for mailing) or just leave them in a locker 🙂
