We’re teaming up!
FREE Take & Make Art Kits for Teens at Newport Library
Inspired by the work of Joseph Norman
CREATE! Together we’ve created mock lithography kits for teens inspired by the career of Joseph Norman. Each Take & Make Art Kit comes with all the materials needed to create your own lithograph inspired artwork, plus a FREE PASS to the Museum good for 2 adults (kids to age 17 are free) to see the exhibition in person!
LEARN!
Want to learn more? The Library has created a display of books related to lithography, so you can read up on topics touched on in the galleries.
VISIT!
As an Institutional Member of the Newport Art Museum, the Newport Public Library has 2 Membership cards to the Museum that can be taken out and used for free admission ANYTIME! Each card is good for 2 adults (kids to age 17 are free). They’re popular – reserve in advance by calling the Library.
Kits will be available in the Young Adult Department at the Library beginning Monday, November 28.
Our DM has finished her driver’s education classes and will resume adventuring 🙂
It’s not too late to join the campaign.
You’re stuck on your homework and mom definitely doesn’t do new math. What ever shall you do? That’s easy go to the library web page and select teens/homework help. We’ve got you covered!
Join Ms. Becky in the Friends’ Room on the Lower Level where supplies and instruction will be provided to create your very own string art skulls!
Registration is requested so we can ensure there are enough supplies. Walk-ins will be accommodated as is possible.
The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) will meet for the first time this school year.
TAB membership is a school year long commitment, though we do understand you may have the occasional conflict.
TAB members decide programming, decorate the YA space seasonally, help build book displays and are even encouraged to run programs based on their own interests, if they wish.
In September, we will be getting to know one another and walking through a fall program line up. Bring your ideas or comment on ours!
YA librarians will sign off on community service hours for board members.
